It may surprise many to know has the ninth largest economy in the UK. It was also the starting point for many voyages to the Americas and to Africa. Unfortunately, many of those voyages were to deal with slaves. These days creative media, electronics, museums and aerospace industries form the heart of Bristol's modern economy, and the city-centre docks have been redeveloped as centres of heritage and culture.
